It is not unusual for lots of users to use weak passwords because they are easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins which are not updated for a long time. It limits the access which a script has only to its own folder, so in the event that one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to access any other content part of your account, so the damage will be small. Of course, using JailHost will not replace the safety measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it'll enable you to restrict the damage to one site only.

JailHost in Website Hosting

We’ve included JailHost for all website hosting plans, so you can protect all of your websites with just a couple of clicks within the Hepsia Control Panel. The feature is not active by default so as to avoid disturbing any Internet sites where you may want visitors or administrators to access content from other folders inside your account, but activating it for all other websites is very easy. Unlike various other Control Panels where many domains have their files in the exact same main folder, all domains and subdomains in Hepsia have their own folders, which makes the control and the protection of many different sites easier. In the unfortunate scenario of a website getting hacked, your other sites will be protected and we will have a couple of daily backups for the affected one, so we can bring it back to its initial state within minutes.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated hosting packages and you'll be able to activate it with several clicks. It is not turned on by default as we do not want to prevent some scripts that need to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You could enable JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this quickly even when you don't have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia handles multiple domains - they all have separate folders which could be "locked". In contrast, other widespread Control Panels feature add-on domains and the content of the latter is stored in the primary domain folder, so when a single site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. If a site gets damaged despite your efforts, we will be able to recover it the way it was in no time as we will keep several daily backups of the whole account.
